Sunrise serves a diverse community of people including families‚ single parents‚ grandparents with children‚ seniors‚ and single individuals, from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
The majority of people we serve(75%)are families with children that are experiencing poverty or a significant life event or crisis. Sometimes life is happening for people and they need assistance to help get them through.
We offer direct service and support to help individuals in the following East Calgary communities.

Volunteer opportunities with Sunrise Community Link range from assisting in picking up donations of food, helping out at annual events including the Family Christmas Party and Stampede Breakfast, knitting with KMITT, or becoming a member on our Board of Directors.

We will work to ensure that you are connected with the opportunity that will best suit your interests, current skills set, and passion. We honour the gift of time our volunteers give to Sunrise every year during a celebration and certificate ceremony at our Annual General Meeting. In 2016-2017, 178 extraordinary volunteers gave 4339 hours of their time to Sunrise, equivalent to 180 days!
